Oops!

I can imagine a lot of you are wondering what happened to us...

Since bringing our Little Jet home we've become very busy. Jonah started teaching online again (she teaches English to Koreans), she now has 10 students so it takes up a lot of time. I applied for work and was hired, now I've been working for a couple of weeks. I work in the BPO (business process outsourcing) industry, which is more commonly referred to as the call center industry. I do foundation/English training for all those who are prospective hires. People who have gone through the recruitment process and are potential employees will go through a two to three week training course, which is done by myself and a few others. After that they either pass and are hired, or fail and told to work on improving and try again. In between both of our jobs we need to take care of an extremely energetic baby that refuses to sleep during the day and insists on being played with all the time. He is just an absolute bundle of energy, and we love it.

Jethro's blessing was this December, and it was a great day for us here.

We had the holidays come and go (with the exception of New Year's Day, which is tomorrow), and did much with the family here in the Philippines.

Now, things are beginning to settle down into a regular routine, and therefore we have a little more time to focus on things like this blog. We've taken hundreds of pictures since the last ones we posted. We obviously need to post them here on the blog for all to see. However, time is not quite yet that open. It may be in the next few days that we get some pictures up on here, but you never know what's waiting around the corner. So, don't get your hopes up just yet. Nonetheless, life is good, and life is happy.

I had so much fun editing that I decided to do some more. This is for my brother Jon who liked the original 'rock legend' picture.

Touched by an Angel

A few months ago I was guided by a friend to a great website called aviary.com. It is basically a suite of creative software such as a picture editor, vector editor, music editor, etc. that is browser based. Best of all, its all free. So, I've done some playing around on it from time to time, pretending like I have creative talent. Since the post yesterday I got to thinking, "Why should I leave this great image to the imagination when I can bring it to life." So, I set out to bring Jethro to the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. After a little bit of editing it seemed convincing enough to share to the world. So, I now unveil to you...'Touched by an Angel' a tribute to the Sistine Chapel...

First Week Home

Little Jet has been so active for his first week home. Naturally as parents we believe that our baby is the cutest on earth, so we've been snapping pictures like crazy. Its been hard choosing which ones to upload here on blogger, but we can't put them all up...that would be way too many. So, we've put together a little collection of our favorites from Jethro's first week home.

First Day on the 'Outside'

Jonah and I went to the hospital this morning to check that everything is ok, to see if we could bring our Little Jet home. After a short talk with our pediatrician, she gave us the go signal. So, we went to the nursery, told them that he was ready to be discharged, and they brought his charts down to the billing department. Upon paying they gave us a stub to release him from the nursery, and they took the clothes we had brought for him so they could get him changed. While we were waiting, Jonah's whole family showed up to see the little guy. After the nurses brought him out we went to get some lunch at McDonald's with the family while waiting for the vehicle we had borrowed, then hopped in the van and home we went. We put Little Jet in his crib and snapped some pics so that everyone can see how adorable he is!

He's Here!!!

Finally, after 9 months of waiting, our little(or maybe not so little) baby is here. He was born on October 21, 2009, at 7:12 pm, weighing 8 lbs 8 oz and measuring just about 19 1/2 inches long! Its amazing how adorable the little guy is!



One thing that we noticed about him right away is his cute smiling face. I haven't been able to get a very good angle because he's been behind the nursery glass since he arrived, but you can tell here how happy he is.


Unfortunately, the day after his B-day he started vomiting, so they had to put him on an IV and antibiotics, but even though he's got needles in him he's still as happy as can be.


We were finally able to get his mommy in there so they could connect for a little while. I thought this shot was great with him looking into the eyes of his mommy.




Then, today we were able to take Jonah out of the hospital and go home. Unfortunately, little Jethro is going to have to stay under the care of his Pediatrician for the next few days until he can finish his antibiotics, and they can make sure any infection is gone.



Be sure to keep him, as well as his mommy, in your prayers.

38 Weeks!!!

Here are the latest preggy pics,

and our little baby's crib. We borrowed this little old crib from a relative of Jonah's. It was looking a bit worn, but we had Jonah's father coat it a few times with white paint, then we went over it with the green, to give it a cute, more unique look. Jonah's down to the wire with the pregnancy, and Jonah's doctor said that, according to the pelvic x-ray there's a possibility that she won't have to go under the knife for a C-section.

35 Weeks!!!

Here are the newest pregnancy pics. As you can see in the pictures below our little baby is getting huge.

We would also like to announce that we have picked out a name for the little guy. We have decided on the name Michael Jethro. We both felt that this was the right name for him. We also had another ultrasound after the 35 week check-up, and he's looking very healthy. This time the ultrasound was a lot easier to understand, and it was incredible to see his facial features. We're down to the wire, and any day now we'll be giving the news that our little baby is born.

Our First Home

On September 12, 2009, we made a move into our first real home. We had been planning the move for a while, and were waiting to sell our business before we finally moved. However, we decided that we needed Jonah to be as comfortable as possible in the last weeks of her pregnancy. So, we moved, and have been loving it since. We found this little home for rent in Gerona, Jonah's hometown. The owner is the same owner of the missionaries' apartment here in Gerona, and she remembered me from when I was here. It was easy to talk her into reserving it for us until we were able to make the move. On our first night the house was fairly bare, until little by little we were able to get enough furnishings to make it look like someone is living here.

This first shot is from the gate looking at the front of the house.

The next shot is along the right side (if you're facing the house from the street), it's what they call a 'dirty kitchen'. Basically it is a sink and counter outside the house.

This is our living room. We don't have a TV, but we use my laptop to keep us entertained.

This little gem we found for great price. It makes a wonderful relaxing chair.

Here is a view into one of the bedrooms. As you can see, it isn't very big, but is nice and cozy.

This is our cute little bathroom, complete with toilet and shower.

Here is our bedroom. This bed is another one of those things that have helped us immensely.

And thus ends the tour of our first home. We absolutely love it here, and are excited for the addition to our little family to make this even more of a home.
